Dean Cofer

Connelly Dean Cofer, Sr., 82 of Ooltewah, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2021.

He was born in Rhea County to the late John and Dorothy Cofer. Dean, along with his wife, Lynda, owned and operated Dean’s Catering and Superior Catering for over 50 years. He was a hardworking, dedicated and good man who put his family first.

Dean was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Swafford and Brenda Whitt; his in-laws, Bud and Joyce Johnson; brother-in-law, Jackie Johnson.

Survivors include his loving and dedicated wife of 54 years, Lynda; son, Dean “Dino” Cofer; daughter, Dewalla Cofer (Aaron) Dunsmore; granddaughter, Pepper LaRue Dunsmore; grandson, Cole Dunsmore; sister, Barbara Payne; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Joy Bowers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Darrell Stultz officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021 and from 12 -1 PM Friday, September 10, 2021.
