Erlanger appoints Marti Arvin as chief compliance officer
Erlanger Health System welcomes Marti Arvin as chief compliance officer. Arvin has more than three decades of experience in health care in the areas of compliance, research, privacy, information security, governance and regulatory oversight.
Prior to joining Erlanger, Arvin was vice president of compliance and privacy services for a health care consulting company that provided compliance and business development services to health care organizations. Her consulting clients included a variety of organizations such as academic medical centers, physician practices and traditional hospital institutions. Arvin’s compliance career has also included serving as a chief compliance and privacy officer of four different academic medical centers over a span of 18 years, the most recent being the UCLA Health System and the David Geffen School of Medicine.
“I’m pleased to welcome Marti to the Erlanger family as chief compliance officer,” Erlanger President Dr. William Jackson said in a statement. “Marti’s expertise in health care compliance and her experience working with health care organizations similar to Erlanger will be a great asset to our system. I look forward to working with her.”
Arvin has served as an expert speaker at numerous conferences for the American Health Law Association, Healthcare Compliance Association, Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors and the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics. She worked with the Compliance Certification Board for a number of years and sat on the exam committees for several board certifications. Arvin was also the recipient of the 2007 Compliance Professional’s award.
