Floyd Shadrick
Floyd Shadrick, 81, formerly of Collegedale, TN, died on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at home. He was born September 15, 1942.
Floyd was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Diane Brown Shadrick. He was a supportive and caring father to his three children: Lisa Diane Shadrick Shields, married to Winston Shields; Tresa Denise Shadrick Hellerstedt, married to Evan Hellerstedt; and Thomas Scottland Shadrick, married to Janet Coulter Shadrick.
Floyd was a supportive and doting grandfather to his six grandchildren: George Evan Hellerstedt Jr., Haley Danielle Shields, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Shields, Alexis Nicole Hellerstedt Chapin, Ethan Coulter Morgan, and Lacy Nicole Shadrick.
He was preceded in death by: daughter Lisa Shields, father Marshall Shadrick, mother Hattie Shadrick, sisters Mary Sue Shadrick Puryear, Amy Shadrick Leach, and Frankie Shadrick Weaver.
Floyd was a longtime resident of Rossville, GA and a graduate of the Rossville High School Class of 1960. He was elected class president of the Rossville High School Alumni Association for four years.
Floyd was a celebrated athlete and lettered in many sports. He received 9 varsity letters: 2 for football, 3 for basketball, and 4 for baseball. He was a part of the Georgia AllState Football and Baseball teams. Floyd later went on to
l f b ll play football at East Tennessee State University and was later inducted into the Georgia High School Sports Hall of Fame.
He retired from a long-time career at Combustion Engineering. Floyd was a member of the Church of God denomination.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Dr. Jack Nickle officiating.
Interment will follow in the TN-GA Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
