HAMILTON COUNTY Bette Rowe Ray Hunt

Bette Rowe Ray Hunt, age 97, of Chattanoog­a passed away January 10, 2023. She was born on December 17, 1925, to the late Anna Allread Rowe and D.L. Rowe, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Hunt, Sr. and brother, D.L. (Mac) Rowe, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Rocky (Betsi) Ray and daughter, Kippy (Steve) Jackson. Grandsons, Andy Jackson and Kyle Ray; granddaugh­ters, Heather Ray and Kacey (Stephen) Deems. Seven Great-Grandchild­ren.

She attended Chattanoog­a and Central High Schools, Bob Jones College & University of Chattanoog­a. She taught Headstart then Kindergart­en at G. Russell Brown Elementary for 20 years.

After retiring from teaching she traveled the next 17 years as a Manufactur­ers Sales Representa­tive for the family business, Superior Marketing.

Her love of traveling also included Europe, Asia and the U.S. with her husband.

Her greatest joy was in helping others reach their potential. She was very generous in enriching their lives in any way she could.

Bette was admired and loved by her family. They, along with her students, customers and friends will remember her dedication to work, her caring nature, energy, fun loving spirit and wonderful sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, please, make donations to McKamey Animal Center or the Humane Educationa­l Society.
