Ella Coppinger Shipley

Ella R. Coppinger Shipley, 65, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn. died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in a local hospital. Born and raised in Jasper, Tenn., she was a graduate of Marion County High School and attended Tennessee Tech. She earned her nursing degree in Chattanoog­a and was a longtime employee of the Dialysis Clinic. She loved people, music, and her cats. She was a member of the Jasper Cumberland Presbyteri­an Church where she played the piano for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Shipley; father, W. Lewis Coppinger, brother, W. Lewis Coppinger, Jr., grandparen­ts; Gilbert and Irene Coppinger and Almer and Ruth Clogston. Survivors include her mother, Connie B. Coppinger; sister, Suzy (Keith) Lehman; nephew, Jordan Lehman; honorary daughter and granddaugh­ter, Heather Blankin and Abigail Lackey; and her beloved companion, Steve Vincent. A private family burial will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 6 p.m. (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN with Rev. Mark Craven and Rev. Gregg Steele officiatin­g. The family will receive friends for visitation at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 4 - 6 p.m. (CST) prior to the service in the chapel at the Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper. Pallbearer­s will be Jordan Lehman, Gil Burton, Bo Burton, Warren Quarles, Gary Davis and Randal Southland and Bill Craven. Honorary Pallbearer­s will be John Wells and Ben Harris.
