Bill Boleman
Bill (Winburn Oliver) Boleman, 102, of Ooltewah, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
Born in Gainesville, Georgia, he was the youngest child of eleven born to the late William Oliver Boleman and Millie M. Potts Boleman. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. Bill was the manager of the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, and his wife Sally
d h served as secretary. Together they served the families of the Chattanooga, Ooltewah, Apison, East Brainerd and Harrison communities for 35 years.
He was a former member and deacon of Duncan Park Baptist Church. He was a member of Ooltewah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and served his country in WWII.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Life Care of Collegedale and Hearth Hospice for their years of love and care.
He loved spending time with family, friends, and anyone who could share a story. He especially loved his grandson Jonathan and great grandsons, Nolan and Carter and watching them grow up.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Sally Boleman and his son-in-law, Steve Witt.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Becky Witt; grandson, Jonathan (Whitney) Witt; two great-grandsons, Nolan and Carter Witt; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill loved people and never met a stranger. His desire was to always help others. He has donated his body to science at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Anatomical Donations Program.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Entombment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
