HK Architects names Mersserlain as principal
HK Architects has named architect Nick Messerlian as a principal at the firm.
Messerlian brings more than 16 years of experience in architecture and interior architecture to the HK leadership team.
HK Architects, formally known as Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects, is a full-service architecture and interior design firm based in Chattanooga. The firm has a staff of 29, and its portfolio is focused on civic, high-end custom residential, commercial, adaptive reuse and multifamily projects.
Messerlian graduated in 2007 from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and spent a year studying at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad in Copenhagen. Messerlian spent seven years in New York City with Axis Mundi, a boutique architecture firm focused on residential interiors, and joined HK Architects in 2014 as the lead in the Interior Design Studio.
“Nick has played a vital role in the firm’s success, managing, coordinating and presenting complete architectural projects,” Heidi Hefferlin, co-founder and partner, said in a news release. “Nick is an adept project manager, forming meaningful relationships with clients across the residential, civic and commercial/ industrial fields.”
Messerlian lives on Signal Mountain with his wife, Barbara, and two sons with a third child on the way.
“Decosta’s proven record of leadership and extensive involvement in our communities will help us meet the needs of BlueCross members statewide,” Emily Reynolds, chairman of the BlueCross board, said in a news release. “We are excited to welcome him to our board, and I know his voice will advance our efforts to improve access to health care for Tennessee customers and businesses.”
A certified public accountant, Jenkins earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee.
