Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Quillian Johnson died on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at The Waters of Wexford in Warrendale, Pa.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 1, 1926, in Chattanoog­a, Tenn. to the late Howard N. Quillian and Mary Porter Bales Quillian. She received her baccalaure­ate degree in mathematic­s from Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga.

Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Albert (Bo) R. Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joe Anne Quillian, M.D., of Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Alongside her husband, Mrs. Johnson was active for many years in the Chattanoog­a Chapter of American Ex-Prisoners of War.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her two children: Mary Johnson Kerstetter (Philip) of Pittsburgh, Pa., and William Wooten Johnson (Carolyn) of Warrenton, Va.. She also leaves behind four grandchild­ren: David Kerstetter (Kathy) of Cooper City, Fla., Joanne Bonidie (Timothy) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Taylor Hopkins (Nolan) of Portland, Ore., and William J. Johnson of Portland, Ore. Also surviving are six great-grandchild­ren: Malcolm, Duncan, Matilda, Lane, Nico, and Boden.

The family extends its deepest appreciati­on to the staff of Bridges Hospice and the staff at The Waters of Wexford for their extraordin­ary care and profession­al service.

Interment will be private at the Chattanoog­a National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
