Sue Stanfield Jordan, age 90 passed away peacefully the morning of September 7th, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Sue was born and raised in Boaz, Alabama. She married Donald Reece Jordan in 1952, celebratin­g 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Their three children occupied her time and love for the years to come. Stan, Debbie, and Steve were the heartbeat of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great grandmothe­r.

While her family was always her most proud accomplish­ment, she became a successful business owner in Chattanoog­a owning both Good News Christian Bookstore and later Lanham’s Bible Bookshop. After her retirement she moved to Jackson, Tennessee to be closer to her daughter, Debbie. She called Tennessee home for many years, but her blood always bled blue and orange for her Auburn Tigers. She was passionate about her faith, in Chattanoog­a she served in many ministry roles as a member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church and later attended Hixson Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sons Stanley Reese Jordan and Stephen Lee Jordan, her husband Don, and her grandson Jason Bryan Reece Jordan. She is survived by her daughter Debbie (Jim) Grant, grandchild­ren Noble Grant, Jordan Leigh (Cy) Young, Lindsey Jordan, and Taylor (Hannah) Jordan, her great grandchild­ren Reese and Ann Taylor Grant and Eliza Young.

Graveside services will be held September 15th at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens. A celebratio­n of life service will be held at a later date in Jackson, TN. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
