Tom Cruise portrays a police officer in the far off year of 2054 when a “pre-crime” unit arrests suspects before they can even break the law in director Steven Spielberg’s 2002 adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novella “Minority Report” (7:30 p.m., MTV2). Well received in its time, the film has held up among critics, having been named among the top 10 sci-fi films by the American Film Institute and cited among the best films from 2000 to 2018 by The Washington Post.
