NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans have added three more members to the staff of first-time head coach coach Brian Callahan, who is now bringing former Cincinnati Bengals colleague Colt Anderson with him as special teams coordinator in Nashville.

The Titans announced the addition of Anderson on Tuesday, along with Scott Fuchs as assistant offensive line coach and Steve Donatell — https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2018/aug/21/donatell-new-outside-linebackers-coach-utc/ a former https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2018/aug/21/donatell-new-outside-linebackers-coach-utc/ University of Tennessee at Chattanooga https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2018/aug/21/donatell-new-outside-linebackers-coach-utc/ assistant — as defensive assistant.

The 39-year-old Callahan, who was Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator the past four seasons, was hired by the Titans last month to replace Mike Vrabel, who was fired after six seasons. Most of Callahan’s staff was announced last week, which included an introductory news conference for https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2024/feb/14/titans-coach-brian-callahans-first-staff-features/ offensive coordinator https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2024/feb/14/titans-coach-brian-callahans-first-staff-features/ Nick Holz and defensive https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2024/feb/14/titans-coach-brian-callahans-first-staff-features/ coordinator Dennard Wilson.

Anderson, 38, was assistant special teams coach for the Bengals the past four seasons. This past season, the Bengals ranked 10th in averaging 10.2 yards per punt return, eighth in punt return average allowed and second by holding opponents to 17 yards on kickoff returns.

Anderson was a walk-on when he began his college playing career at Montana, a traditional power in the Football Championship Subdivision. After that, he went on to play 84 games across nine NFL seasons, starting in 2009 with the Minnesota Vikings — he signed as an undrafted free agent — before spending time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills.

Fuchs will be making his NFL debut after 29 of 30 seasons coaching college offensive linemen.

He spent the past three seasons at Kansas and also coached at Buffalo, Wyoming and his alma mater North Dakota State, winning three FCS national titles in his tenure. Other stops include Southern Illinois, Grand Valley State, Nebraska Omaha, Minnesota-Crookston, Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Valley City State.

Donatell was a defensive assistant last season with the Miami Dolphins, who had a takeaway in 12 straight games to finish the season. He started coaching in the NFL in 2022 as a defensive quality control coach under his father Ed, who was defensive coordinator of the Vikings at the time.

He started coaching at UTC in 2018, then spent three seasons as a defensive quality control analyst with Stanford.

Still unfilled on Callahan’s staff is the opening for a strength and conditioning coach.
