Wendy Kathleen (White) Welborn

-

Our precious Wendy Kathleen Welborn went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 6th. She passed away at home after a short illness in the hospital. Wendy was born on March 4, 1965–she had just had her 59th birthday this week. Wendy was a graduate of LaFayette High, and while in high school, she competed in the Special Olympics and won a bronze medal in Slalom Skiing. Wendy loved her family and never forgot a birthday or anything for that matter. The best day in Wendy’s life was the day she got to marry the love of her life, Anthony Welborn. She loved riding with Anthony on his Viking Yamaha on picnic outings together. They were blessed with over 30 years together, and the family is so thankful for Anthony’s loving care of Wendy all these years. Wendy loved getting together with her siblings and many nieces and nephews as well as getting to see her many aunts, uncles, and cousins through the years—she loved her family. We will miss her calls, her smile, her hugs, her little laugh—all that made her so special.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Anthony and sisterin-law, Teri Welborn, and Anthony’s parents, Mary Alice and Terrell Welborn. Wendy’s mother Aline Ray White preceded her in death. Wendy is also survived by her father, Kenny “JK” White, her brother Ken White (Terri) & AJ, and Katie, her brother John White (Julie) & Tyler, Jake, Luke, and Megan, and her sister Margaret Ann Robinson (Chris) & Bailey, Molly, Sadie, Sophie, and Stella.

Family will receive friends 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the Second Baptist Church: 500 W. Main Street, LaFayette, GA 30728, with the funeral service at 1 p.m. Rev. Mike Peterson will officiate.

Interment will be held at Center Point Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Stan Kilburn, AJ White, Tyler White, Bailey Robinson, Jake White, and Luke White.

Honorary pallbearer is Craig McBee.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
