MORRISTOWN — Herman West, 89 of Morristown, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024. Herman was born on June 17th, 1934 in Sweetwater, Tenn. Herman was a pillar of the community in Morristown, where he owned Dawson’s Clothing Store for over 49 years! He was an avid University of Tennessee fan, a former president and active member of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Boys Club Board member. He also served on the Board of the Bank of Commerce, as well as the Downtown Merchants Associatio­n. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a life long member of the United Methodist Church of Sweetwater.

Herman’s greatest passion was his family and friends. He loved life, and no one was a stranger to him. He deeply loved people, but certainly loved his wife, children and grandchild­ren most fervently and was an extraordin­ary husband and father.

Herman is preceded in death by his Parents Jesse Clifford West and Mattie Cavett West, his Sister Viola Turpin (Wayne) of Sweetwater, Tenn.,

Sister In Law Andrea Kay Lucille Millard, and Nephew Michael James Millard.

Herman leaves behind to cherish his memory his lovely wife Josephine West, Daughter Jennifer Powell (Tom), Son Jeff West (Karmon), along with his wonderful Grandchild­ren Jarrod West, Jake West, Claire West, and Reed West as well as his Brother in Law Bob Millard and Nephew Robert Joseph Millard.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday April 5th at Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City, TN. All friends of the family are invited and welcome.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers and gifts for the memory of Herman, donations to the Morristown Boys Club be made in his name.
