Grove Oak man arrested with counterfeit money
Local law enforcement agents, on Tuesday, March 14, arrested a Grove Oak man who allegedly attempted to pass counterfeit money. Arrested was Todd O. Jackson, 41.
According to a press release from Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Leesburg Police Officer Jimmy Deberry and Sheriff’s Office Investigators Shawn Rogers and Jeremy Stepps responded to a business in Leesburg on Tuesday and discovered the suspect was attempting to pass counterfeit U.S. currency.
Agents took Jackson into custody and was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center. He was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the first degree, the release stated.
Investigators recovered counterfeit money from the suspect and his vehicle, Shaver said.
