Leonard residence is Cherokee Rose Garden Club’s Yard of the Month

Cherokee County Herald - - VIEWPOINTS - By Diane Traister

Another beautiful yard has been found to be given the Yard of the Month award. Linda & Jack Leonard reside at 4465 C R 71 in Centre. Walking around this beautiful yard was a pleasure. Our eyes first spotted a pretty yellow flower we never saw before. You have probably heard of 4 O’clocks, but what about 8 O’clocks? Bigger than the fours and very bright yellow. Linda had a variety of clematis that was unusual too.

Also observed was a pretty dark red colored tree that Linda called a Smoke Tree. It had fussy looking blooms. There were two huge vegetable gardens. Beside one of them were every kind of lily that one could imagine. It was difficult to say which one was the prettiest! On the other side of the house was a very spacious patch of different colored lantana. A perfect bloom to attract butterflies.

There was a cluster of different types of arrangements by the driveway. Planted in those spaces were Inpatients, Dusty Miller and a neat little square pot of Succulents. There was a beautiful large pot with a red mandevilla to top it all off.

Please try to go by & see this yard if you get a chance. Disappointed? Not a chance!!
