It was founded in 1996 as a re­sponse to the de­sires of shoot­ers world- wide. The or­ga­ni­za­tion now boasts mem­ber­ship of more than 20,000 peo­ple, in­clud­ing mem­bers in 50 for­eign coun­tries. Sims won the state cham­pi­onship in the cus­tom de­fense pis­tol divi­sion us­ing a Nighthawk Cus­tom 45 ACP, Shaver said.
