Readers who receive their copies of the HERALD on Tuesday afternoon will want to take note of an important event at the ROC (Recreational Outreach Center — Chesnut 411 Bypass at Highway 9). From 10 a.m.3 p. m. on the 11th, the American Red Cross will be conducting a blood drive in the ROC’s first floor meeting room.
Blood donation is urgently needed throughout the nation. All eligible donors are urged to donate! Individuals of age 17 and above who are in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds may donate every 56 days.
The donation process usually takes fewer than 35 or 40 minutes — often less.
Cherokeans have a reputation for answering the call for blood. Let’s do so again Tuesday!
Two special events are slated for the Cherokee County Historical Museum on Thursday, the 13th. Chicken salad with all the trimmings will be served from 11: 30 a. m.1p. m. Plates may be picked up at the museum — or can be delivered to businesses with multiple orders. Ticket buyers are also welcome to dine in the Museum Cafe — there is space for a dozen people at a time.
