SPE­CIAL EVENT!!! TheatreCen­tre volunteers in­vite all area res­i­dents and vis­i­tors to at­tend at least one of the three per­for­mances of LION KING, JR. slated for this week — Thurs­day, Fri­day, and Satur­day nights. The 7pm per­for­mances will be staged in The Edge build­ing at the Cen­tre First United Methodist Church. Ad­mis­sion is $10 per per­son — and can be paid at the door af­ter 6:15 p.m. each night.

Dozens of tal­ented chil­dren, youth, and adults are work­ing hard to make the pro­duc­tion a grand suc­cess! SEC­OND SPE­CIAL EVENT! The McCord’s Cross­roads Homemak­ers Club Inc. is spon­sor­ing a fes­tive “From Field to Fork” din­ner at the Hopewell Com­mu­nity Cen­ter on Satur­day, Au­gust 19. Club leader Judy Hop­per states that the event is to en­cour­age farm­ers and to show their valu­able con­tri­bu­tions to Amer­i­can life — and life in the Land of Chero­kee!!! Through­out the 4-7 meal ser­vice time, there will be mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment and pre­sen­ta­tions by farm­ers and other agri­cul­tural ex­perts — who will ex­plain new de­vel­op­ments in the ag in­dus­try and the sta­tus of farm­ing op­er­a­tions in this county and sur­round­ing coun­ties.
