Sheriff’s office arrests NY sex offender accused of failing to register
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested an out-of-state sex offender after he failed to register with the sheriff’s office.
Patrick E, Sullivan, 30, of Albany, New York, was taken into custody Tuesday, Aug. 8.
According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators received information the suspect was living at a residence in Leesburg and had not complied with the Alabama Sex Offender Registration Act (SORNA). After verifying with New York authorities of the conviction, investigators arrested Sullivan.
Sullivan was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where he awaits bond on a SORNA violation for entering the state without registering.
