Hats off! to all of the participants in last week’s TheatreCentre production of LION KING, JR. The performances showed that much planning and practice had been involved in the staging of the energetic play!

Applause, applause! for all of the sponsors and ticket- buyers, too. The support of sponsors and ticket- buyers does indeed promote the success of TheatreCentre’s production!

SATURDAY, AUG. 19 — 4- 7 P. M. — “FROM FIELD TO FORK” — a dinner sponsored by the McCord’s Crossroads Homemakers Club — to salute farmers and to emphasize to the public the value of agriculture to this area’s economy and way of life. The “come and go” (or diners may stay the whole time) event will feature plates of locally-grown vegetables and meats, presentations by area farmers about new developments in agricultural methods, and lively performances by talented musicians Ben Jackson and Gene Agan.

A $6 donation per plate is requested. Proceeds will be used to help the MCHC complete restoration and payments on the Hopewell Community Center — the club’s headquarters at the intersection of County Roads 29 and 16 — - just a short drive along CR 29 from U.S. Highway 411. (Read-
