Wolves fall in overtime

Gerry Fitzgerald scored midway through overtime to lift the Wild to a 4-3 victory against the Wolves in American Hockey League action at Allstate Arena. Brandon Pirri scored two powerplay goals and Reid Duke added a third for the Wolves (8-5-1-1).

♦ The Astros acquired infielder Aledmys Diaz from the Blue Jays for minor-league right-hander Trent Thornton. Diaz hit .263 with 18 home runs and 55 RBI last season with the Blue Jays. Thornton was 9-8 with a 4.42 ERA at Class AAA Fresno.

♦Charles Howell III shot a 2-under-par 68 to take a one-stroke lead over Cameron Champ and Jason Gore into the final round of the RSM Classic in Sea Island, Georgia. Howell completed 54 holes at 16-under 194.
