Warrenville doctor charged with inappropriately touching, kissing female patient
A neurologist turned himself in on Nov. 29 to Warrenville police after his former patient reported him for sexual misconduct that allegedly occurred in January in the west suburb.
Dr. Henry Echiverri, who was released on bond, is accused of touching a female patient’s bare skin below her waistline during an appointment, according to Warrenville police. Afterward, he allegedly hugged and kissed her on the cheek.
Echiverri, who has been a neurologist at Edward-Elmhurst Health’s hospitals for 28 years, will continue to see patients throughout the criminal proceedings, according to Keith Hartenberger, the health system’s spokesman. Hartenberger said in a Saturday
Rosemary Vargas, 27, who allegedly robbed a Little Caesars at knifepoint and slammed an employee into a wall, was denied bail Saturday.
Vargas allegedly entered through the employee door of Little Caesars at 2601 W. Cermak Rd. Friday afternoon and grabbed a 19-year-old female worker by the neck and slammed her into the wall of a cooler, Cook County prosecutors and Chicago police said.
Vargas put a knife to the woman’s abdomen and demanded cash.
She fled the Little Caesars with $35, but was arrested in the parking lot, prosecutors said. Police found her intoxicated and in possession of a knife and drugs.
