Hat trick for Wolves’ Pirri

Brandon Pirri scored three times to lead the Wolves to a 4-0 victory Saturday against the IceHogs in American Hockey League action in Rockford.

Pirri scored two goals in the first period to help the Wolves (13-9-2-1) open a 3-0 lead, then added another in the second. It was the third hat trick of his career.

Oscar Dansk stopped all 32 shots he faced for the Wolves, who also got a goal in the first period from Nic Hague and two assists apiece from T.J. Tynan, Daniel Carr and Zach Whitecloud.

♦ The Senators put forwards Bobby Ryan (concussion) and Matt Duchene (undisclose­d lower-body injury) on injured reserve with injuries suffered Thursday against the Canadiens. The moves mean both players will be out at least seven days.

♦ The Ducks extended general manager Bob Murray’s contract two years through the 2021-22 season. Financial terms of the deal weren’t immediatel­y disclosed. games in the series after dropping the 14 before that. The Midshipmen lead the overall series 60-52-7.

Giants WR Beckham out vs. Redskins

Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was ruled out for the team’s road game Sunday against the Redskins with a quadriceps injury.

Beckham, who caught a touchdown pass and threw another in the Giants’ 30-27 overtime victory last Sunday against the Bears, appeared on the team’s injury report Friday with a bruised quadriceps and practiced on a limited basis.
