Of Chicago, died at North­west­ern Me­mo­rial Hos­pi­tal on De­cem­ber 31 af­ter a brave bat­tle with can­cer. In his 62 years, Mark was suc­cess­ful in his ca­reer, but his great­est suc­cess was im­prov­ing the lives of ev­ery­one who knew him.

He was born in Bat­tle Creek, Michi­gan in 1956, the son of the late Wal­ter and Betty Droege­mueller. Mark re­ceived his un­der­grad­u­ate de­gree from the Uni­ver­sity of Illi­nois and his grad­u­ate de­gree from the Kel­logg Grad­u­ate School of Man­age­ment at North­west­ern Uni­ver­sity. He be­gan his ca­reer as a suc­cess­ful trader on the Chicago Board of Trade be­fore finding his pas­sion as the Chief Fi­nan­cial Of­fi­cer for a pri­vate school in Chicago.

Mark is sur­vived by his two sons, Joseph and Augustus, whom he loved deeply; his brother, Ford; sis­ter, Mary; and his niece and neph­ews. All who knew him will miss him.

A cel­e­bra­tion of Mark’s life will be held on Jan­uary 9 at 6:00 p.m., at Catherine Cook School Gym­na­sium, 226 W. Schiller, Chicago, IL.
