NHL Blue Jackets, Jets swing deal
The Blue Jackets traded center Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Jets for wing Patrik Laine and center Jack Roslovic. Dubois and Laine had been asking to be traded since before the season started, and Dubois was benched by Blue Jackets coach John

† Stars wing Jamie Benn didn’t practice after his right leg buckled awkwardly during a collision Friday with Predators wing Viktor Arvidsson. Stars coach Rick Bowness said only that Benn has a lowerbody injury and is listed as day-to-day.
GOLF McIlroy leads in Abu Dhabi
Rory McIlroy made an eagle and five birdies on his way to a 5-underpar 67 and a one-stroke lead over Tyrrell Hatton after the third round of the Abu Dhabi Championship in the United Arab Emirates. McIlroy completed 54 holes at 13-under 203.
Max Homa shot a 7-under 65 and Si Woo Kim and Tony Finau 5-under 67s to share the lead going into the final round of the American Express in La Quinta, California. All three finished three rounds at 15-under 201.
COVID-19 U. of Michigan sports shut down
The Michigan Daily reported the state health department is suspending University of Michigan athletics for two weeks after five student-athletes tested positive for a COVID-19 variant. Fifteen others are presumed positive.
