Emmy-winning actress Tyson, 96, kicks off 2021 with the release of Just as I Am (Jan. 26), a memoir that includes details of her life and memories made with Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Richard Pryor, James Earl Jones, Maya Angelou and Nelson and Winnie Mandela, as well as her eight-year marriage to jazz legend Miles Davis. She shares what it was like to work with some of the leading stars of her day, including Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Jane Fonda. “Here in my [90s], I am a woman who, at long last, has something meaningful to say,” she says.
