With spring fast approaching and Chicago’s public health officials loosening travel guidelines thanks to gains in the fight against COVID-19, we asked readers: Do you plan to travel this spring? Some answers have been condensed and lightly edited for clarity.

“Yes, we will be fully vaccinated and continue mask-wearing and hand-washing.” Jessica Medrano

“I didn’t travel at all, and I take two to three trips a year. If it is safe to do so, I will. I am completely vaccinated, but I still can’t go to Europe because they are not playing with us.”

Veronica Dionne Holeyfield

“Hoping to make Niagara Falls for our 30th in July. Will be driving and certainly hope to be shot up long before then. Looking forward to going somewhere.”

John Egan

“Absolutely. This spring and summer!” Tom Gonzalez

“I traveled when they weren’t ‘loose.’ How can a city put a ban on traveling? And why did anyone listen?”

Jess Johnson

“Pretty sure nobody cared about their ‘travel guidelines.’ ”

Paul Dukich

“I sure do hope so. I’ve got five new babies born in my family I have yet to meet, and that would do my heart some good.” Rob Diaz

“Yes. We bought a travel trailer last year, and we are going to use it a lot this year.”

“NOT AS LONG AS MASKS ARE MANDATORY. ZERO TRAVEL.”

Arturo Alcazar

“I would love to see my son. It has been a year, but I won’t put our health at risk. I will wait until a lot more people are vaccinated.” Jo Ann Fields

“Yes, and I’ve already been traveling. Went to Vegas!”

Kyle Winston

“Yes, I’ve been traveling back and forth from Florida, being a snowbird. Mask, social distancing and hand-washing and sanitizing. Other people have been pretty good about it, too.”
