Krutwig, Loyola roll into final

Cameron Krutwig had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 22 Loyola beat Indiana State 65-49 on Saturday to advance to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament final in St. Louis.

Krutwig also had four assists and blocked three shots. Lucas Williamson scored 14 points for the Ramblers (23-4), and Keith Clemons had 12.

“The five starters have really kind of taken it upon ourselves to set the tone in games,” Krutwig said. “It’s not just offensivel­y. It’s mostly on defense. When it comes down to it, we were firing on all cylinders, making the right reads.”

Indiana State (15-10) shot 38.5% (20-for-52) from the field. Jake LaRavia scored 13 points, and Tyreke Key had 11 on 4-for-13 shooting. Key was averaging 17.5 points per game.

The Sycamores were one of two teams to beat top-seeded Loyola in conference play with a 76-71 win at home Jan. 10.

Drake 71, Missouri State 69

Joseph Yesufu’s layup with 2.5 seconds remaining lifted Drake (25-3) past Missouri State (17-7) in the second MVC Tournament semifinal. Yesufu finished with 25 points.

Notre Dame 83, Florida State 73

Prentiss Hubb scored 22 points as Notre Dame (10-14, 7-11 ACC) beat the No. 11 Seminoles (15-5, 11-4) at home to snap a 28-game losing streak against ranked opponents.

Purdue 67, Indiana 58

Zach Edey scored 20 points and Jaden Ivey 17 as No. 23 Purdue (18-8, 13-6 Big Ten) won its ninth straight in the series. Aljami Durham had 14 points for the visiting Hoosiers (12-14, 7-12).

Rutgers 77, Minnesota 70 (OT)

Jacob Young had 23 points, seven assists and five rebounds to help Rutgers (14-10, 10-10 Big Ten) beat host Minnesota. Brandon Johnson had 19 points and 11 boards for the Gophers (13-14, 6-14).
