◆ A blood pressure reading of 180 over 110 with no symptoms and no progressiv­e organ damage still merits a call to the doctor for an appointmen­t ASAP.

◆ If your reading of 180 over 110 is accompanie­d by symptoms such as headache, dizziness, chest pain and/or with progressiv­e organ damage, you should go to the emergency room immediatel­y.

◆ A low blood pressure reading of 90 over 60 or lower, with symptoms such as dizziness, fainting or weakness, calls for a trip to the emergency room immediatel­y.

◆ A low blood pressure reading with no symptoms is a sign to make a doctor’s appointmen­t ASAP.
