EVANS-Connie (Gish) Evans, age 85, was born and raised in Quincy, IL, attended St. Rose grade school and Notre Dame High School. Connie moved to Chicago’s south suburbs after marriage to late Robert Evans. A beloved Mother to her children Lynn, Dana (Richard) Rooda, and Carl. Daughter of the late John and Gertrude Gish, sister of the late Lovica (Ken) Marksbury and late Carl (Mary) Gish. Aunt to four generation­s of nieces and nephews. A cherished friend to many. Volunteere­d at her children’s schools: St. Michaels in Orland Park (head librarian for a few years), Worth, and Richards. Involved with PTA and an election judge. Volunteere­d with a Catholic program for developmen­tally handicappe­d children, at Worth Library and Together We Cope. Member of Worth American Legion for 45 years. Connie worked at Worth and Evergreen Park Libraries, retiring from Evergreen Park. Talented at crocheting, Connie donated afghans to vets, the homeless, hospitals, and more. Memorials can be made to Together We Cope, 17010 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park, IL 60477 or a library of your choice. Burial was private.
