Fly Me to the Moon!
Director Richard Linklater’s Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood (April 1 on Netflix) captures the excitement of the milestone moment of America’s historic 1969 moon landing as well as the down-toearth perspective of what it was like to be a kid watching the drama unfold on TV—as he did. Jack Black, 52, narrates the film, which features a hybrid of hand-drawn and computer-animated imagery. “Our unique animation style allows both the conjuring of a world long gone and the flowing, playful expression of memory and imagination,” says Linklater, 61, who previously collaborated with Black on School of Rock and Bernie.
