Police search for man who sexually abused 11-year-old in S. Side alley

Police are searching for a man accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl Thursday in an alley in the Washington Park neighborho­od on the South Side.

The girl was walking home from school about 3:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Indiana Avenue when the man walked up from behind her, covered her mouth and pulled her into an alley and abused her, Chicago police said.

She broke free and ran, police said. Police described the suspect as a Black man between 45 and 60 years old, about 5-foot-9, skinny with graying hair and a mustache or goatee. He wore a black shirt, black jeans with a silver belt and black boots.

Man charged with murder in Austin stabbing

A man has been charged in a stabbing that left one dead and another wounded last month, police said.

Obie Cornelious, 49, was charged with murder and attempted murder after being arrested Friday, Chicago police said.

He is charged with fatally stabbing Shikita Carr, 45, and critically wounding a 40-year-old man around 3:25 a.m. Sept. 23 in the 5300 block of West Crystal Street.

Person found shot to death in East Garfield Park: police

A person was found shot to death Saturday morning in East Garfield Park.

Officers found the male unresponsi­ve on the sidewalk about 7:50 a.m. in the 300 block of South Springfiel­d Avenue, Chicago police said. He had suffered more than 15 gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Man shot to death in Washington Heights

A man was found shot to death Thursday night in Washington Heights on the South Side.

Officers responding to a report of gunfire about 10 p.m. found the 64-year-old unresponsi­ve in an alley in the 10300 block of South Green Street, Chicago police said.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
