Frank Rosario Guastella M.D., beloved husband of Margaret L. “Peggy” Guastella, (nee Fee), loving father of Phillip (Sue) Guastella, Catherine (Miro) Skrodzki, Christine (Paul) Flynn, Gina Deutsch, Patrick (Deena) Talano and Eric (JaDana) Talano, dearest grandfather of Sean Flynn (Julia Barrero), Jenna (Alex) Goble, Samantha (John) McNicholas, Alyse Deutsch, Liam Flynn, Justin Deutsch, Isabella Talano and Vincenzo Talano, devoted great grandfather of Benjamin and William Goble, dear brother of Rose Mary (Robert) Douglas and the late Phillip L. (Diane) Guastella, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Frank was a Vietnam War veteran, a graduate of Northwestern University and received his medical degree from University of Illinois, College of Medicine. He founded the department of Ophthalmology at Holy Cross Hospital and went on to become the Chairman of the Ophthalmology Department at both Holy Cross and Christ Hospital. He went on to form Southwest Ophthalmology and later in his career he joined Arbor Eye Care. He was an amazing teacher, mentor and friend. He loved, cooking, travel, golf, art music and most of all his family and their frequent visits to Door County. On December 22, 2022, a memorial mass will be held at St. John of the Cross, 5005 Wolf Road, Western Springs. Visitation to start at 10 am, followed by mass at 11 am. Celebration of life to follow at Edgewood Valley Country Club, 7500 Willow Springs Road, Burr Ridge, IL.
