2-year-old critically hurtwhendresser, Tvfall on her

A 2-year-old girl was seriously injured after a dresser with a TV on it fell on her Thursday in her South Side home, officials said.

The girl’s mother found her daughter under the dresser about 8:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 76th, police said. The girl was taken in critical condition to Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago.

The state DCFS is investigating allegations of neglect in connection with the incident, said DCFS spokesman Kendall Marlowe. One other child in the home has been placed in the care of rela- tives, he said. The agency has had no prior contact with the family. Calumet Area detectives also are investigating.

Tuesday, Shaun Brown, 1, was the fourth child from the area in four months to die from a falling TV.
