2 critically hurt in wrong-way Lake Shore crash
Two people were critically injured in a wrong-way crash in the South Loop early Thursday.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Roosevelt Road, police said. A woman behind the wheel of a red Nissan was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive when she struck a white Toyota Corolla and a van— both traveling in the correct lanes, police said.
The wrong-way driver and her male passenger, and the female driver of the Corolla, were taken tonorthwestern Memorialhospital. A Chicago Fire Department spokesman said two of those transported were in serious-to-critical condition, while the thirdwas in fair-to-serious condition.
