An Internet rumor has been circulating for at least a few years that ESPN’s quiet, reserved, borderline-dweeby NFL analyst John Clayton surreptitiously rocks a ponytail.
You see, Clayton usually gives his reports alone on camera from a straightforward angle, making it difficult for viewers to see the back of his head, thus perpetuating the myth.
Well, the always-creative folks at ESPN’s ad agency decided to have some fun with the rumor, turning out one of their more hilarious spots.
Not only does the commercial show Clayton’s long locks, but it reveals the middle-aged football expert as a metalhead who lives at home with his mom.
Hilarious stuff, deserving of an ESPY.
