1. HINSDALE CENTRAL

The Red Devils are absolutely loaded from top to bottom. Sophomore Martin Joyce will contend for the singles state title and defending doubles state champs Alex Hagermoser and Peter Heneghan look to make it two in a row. The doubles team of Chase Hamilton and Michael Lorenzini also return after taking fifth at state last year.

2. LAKE FOREST

Coach Corky Leighton has plenty of talent to work with. The key for the Scouts is getting all the pieces of the puzzle to fit. The Scouts have three extremely talented players in Peter Tarwid, Scott Christian and John Zordani.

3. STEVENSON

The Patriots aren’t as deep as Hinsdale Central but they have plenty of front-line firepower. Jeremy Bush was third in state last year while the doubles team of Andrew Komarov and Colin Harvey made it to the consolation semifinals.

4. NEW TRIER

Junior Alex Galoustian made a deep run at state in singles last year and should have no trouble contending for a state title. The Trevians don’t have a lot of experience but they always figure out a way to contend. David Laser and Chas Mayer will be key contributors.

5. DOWNERS SOUTH

Freshman Christian San Andreas, who was one of the top junior tennis players in the Philippines, could turn some heads. He’ll team up with senior Cody Freischlag at doubles while Tony Leto leads the way at singles.

6. DEERFIELD

The Warriors have a very potent 1-2 punch behind senior singles players Toby Ma and Jack Kasbeer. Noah Rosenblat and Harrison Crist compete at No. 1 doubles.

7. LIBERTYVILLE

Sophomore Ben VanDixhorn put in a lot of work in the offseason and could surprise. The doubles team of seniors Jack Springgate and Eric Klein also return after posting three wins at state last year.

8. EVANSTON

The Wildkits don’t have a stud player but possess quality depth that will help them score points at state. Senior Adam Collins leads the way at singles with Sam Wiener and Connor Wolf as the top doubles team.

9. LYONS

Senior Jake Elliott is one of the best kickers in the state and has a lot of game on the court as well. The Lions will miss sophomore Alex Ross, who left the team after a strong freshman year.

10. OAK PARK-RIVER FOREST

Jeremy Dixon leads the charge for the Huskies this year. The senior has the potential for a deep run at state.
