There’s been a lot of speculation about what is clearly a troubled relationship between engaged couple Miley

Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, but it does seem the couple’s plans for a June wedding are shaky at best.

According to several people close to both Cyrus, 20, and her 23-year-old Aussie actor beau, the more the couple try to work through their various issues, the more they seem to think postponing marriage is a good idea.

“Both Miley and Liam are getting lots of advice from both of their families — advice that is both unanimous and very sensible,” said a longtime associate of Miley and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. “That advice is simple: The worst thing to do — especially for such a young couple in the public eye — would be to get married and turn around and get divorced.”

Another good friend of the Hemsworth clan echoes that advice. “What’s the hurry? Best to be

STILL TOGETHER: For all the rumors about “Twilight” twosome Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson being splitsville, spies at the small party held Tuesday night for Stewart’s 23rd birthday celebration at the Mexican restaurant Malo in Los Angeles report the twosome are still very coosome.

“It was a lovely little party. Everyone was laughing and toasting and in such a good mood,” reports one source. “It also was very clear that Kristen and Rob only had eyes for one another. … All very sweet.”

OFF TO REHAB: While it’s not 100 percent certain, Lindsay Lohan’s next — and hopefully final! — trip to rehab is likely to take place near her Long Island, N.Y., roots. Unlike the previous posh facilities she attended in Malibu or Rancho Mirage, Calif., the Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach is said to be very spartan. The 90-bed facility houses its clients in very simple rooms and monitors everyone very closely 24/7.

Lohan appeared to be snaring mostly positive reviews for her appearance on David Letterman’s “Late Show” Tuesday night. While she did dodge a number of the host’s questions, she did it with humor and was clearly matching Dave quip for quip. “Even when she got emotional and teared up, it

totally sure. If not? Don’t do it!” looked genuine and not just a bit of acting crocodile tears,” said a show insider Wednesday. “It certainly had an effect on Dave, who can always tell what’s real and what’s faked.”

LITERARY LIGHTS: The prestigious 2013 Carl Sandburg Literary Award will be presented to acclaimed international author Isabel Allende (“The House of the Spirits,” “Island Beneath The Sea”) and Michael Lewis (“Moneyball,” “The Blind Side”). Chicagoan Christine Sneed will receive the 21st Century Award for Emerging Chicago Author.

Presented by the Chicago Library Foundation and the Chicago Public Library, the 14th annual awards gala will be again produced by Donna LaPietra at the UIC Forum on Oct. 23 — chaired by Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts and foundation board member Marcy Carlin. Chicago’s diverse literary community will be showcased by having prominent writers seated at each table during the dinner — followed by a conversation between Allende and Lewis, moderated by author and National Public Radio mainstay Scott Simon.

Past recipients of the Carl Sandburg Award have included Toni Morrison, David McCullough, Joyce Carol Oates, Kurt Vonnegut, John Updike, David Wolfe, Roger Ebert, Don DeLillo, Walter
