CHICAGO CLUB CITED FOR LETTING UNDERAGE BIEBER IN
A Chicago nightclub has been cited for allowing the 19-year-old pop star Justin Bieber inside the 21-andover establishment.
A spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection confirmed that police issued a ticket to Bodi Chicago on Wednesday for admittedly and knowingly having underage persons in the establishment.
If a hearing officer finds the club in the 800 block of North Orleans liable, the typical fine is $1,000.
A person who answered the phone but would not give his name confirmed that Justin Bieber was at the club on Tuesday after his United Center concert.
The club issued a statement that said Bieber made a brief appearance to support a friend who is a DJ and was performing at the nightclub. It said Bieber was not served alcohol. “Neither Justin nor anyone affiliated with Bodi broke any laws,” the statement said. “We believe this matter amounts to a simple misunderstanding with local police officers.”
Bieber’s spokeswoman declined to comment.
Kammy McClurg, of Edgewater, tweeted about the pop star’s appearance that night and said the club probably should be cited because it made the decision to let him in. But she also said the celebrity could be a draw. “It might be worth the citation,” McClurg said.
The pricey nightclub offers bottle service, including a magnum of Grey Goose vodka for $600, according to its website.
