FIRST LADY PLANNING TRIP TO TOWN NEXT WEEK TO SEE BEYONCE
Pssst!
It’s very hush hush and it’s between two buddies. First lady Michelle
Obama is hoping to keep under the radar to have a little fun in Chicago next week and check in with singer Beyonce, one of her best friends.
Sneed is told the first lady wants to attend Beyonce’s concert Wednesday at the United Center and the Secret Service is trying to set it up security-wise.
Beyonce “Run the World” Knowles is in town for one show on her worldwide “The Mrs. Carter Show” tour.
In case you are wondering, Beyonce is married to rapper Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
The Obamas have long enjoyed a close friendship with the Carters — Beyonce sang at both inaugurations (at a ball in 2009 and at the actual inauguration ceremony in 2012) — and the pop star couple, affectionately known as “Jay and Bey” to the Obamas, have hosted multiple fund-raisers for their presidential campaigns.
Beyonce has also gotten involved with the first lady’s “Let’s Move” program combating childhood obesity.
Michelle has taken Malia and Sasha to Beyonce concerts in the past, telling the press in September, “Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls.”
After President Barack
Obama’s 2008 inauguration, Beyonce told Vogue magazine the love was mutual between her and Michelle: “You feel fortunate to be one of the people whom parents don’t mind their children looking up to.”
Not only does Michelle like Beyonce as a role model — she’d like to be her . . . for a day. People magazine asked Michelle who she would trade places with for a day, and without a pause the first lady chose Bey.
“Gosh,” Michelle Obama told People. “If I had some gift, I’d be Beyonce. I’d be some great singer. The power of music, being able to play an instrument. . . It looks like musicians just have the most fun.”
Stay tuned.
