IT’S ALL RELATIVE
Related Realty brings its coastal fan base to the new OneEleven
Most New Yorkers moving to Chicago make a quick discovery: You get a lot more bang for your buck in the Midwest, especially when it comes to rent. So it ’s no surprise that when Related Realty opened amenity-packed OneEleven earlier this month, a whopping 30 percent of the luxe rental tower’s occupants were people who’d relocated, mostly from Los Angeles or New York — where the developer made its mark with a 20-building rental portfolio.
To stand out from its Chicago peers — and draw in coastal devotees — 60-story OneEleven at 111 W. Wacker boasts 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities. These range from an indoor lap pool with a retractable wall to reservable outdoor kitchens and a terrace fire pit surrounded by private cabanas, all collaborations with star designer Kara Mann. Apartments and common spaces feature unmatched finishes, custom fixtures and 9- to 10-foot ceilings. As part of a face-lift when Related Realty scooped up the distressed property in 2011 (now the second building in its Chicago rental portfolio, behind 500 N. Lake Shore), the glass-curtain wall offers stellar river and city views.
The perks are part of the price of all 504 apartments, ranging from 575-square-foot studios starting at $1,995 per month to 1,650- to 2,400-square-foot three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartments that top $7,595 a month. Pricy? A bit. But with a commensurate Manhattan apartment going for around $18,000 a month, relocating amenity-lovers will find the price just right. (Call 312-8500111 for leasing information.)
