Cowboys RB hit with charge of shoplifting

-

Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was arrested on a shoplifting charge after allegedly taking $ 123.50 worth of underwear and cologne from a department store without paying, police in suburban Dallas said Tuesday.

Randle, who is charged with misdemeanor theft between $ 50 and $ 500, was detained late Monday by security in the parking lot of the store and later taken to the city jail in Frisco, Texas, before posting bond, police Sgt. Brad Merritt said. Randle is in the second year of a four- year, $ 2.3 million rookie contract that calls for a base salary of $ 495,000 this season.

The arrest came a day after one of Randle’s best games since he joined the Cowboys as a fifth- round draft pick out of Oklahoma State in 2013. He had a 38- yard run and a key tackle on a kickoff in a 30- 23 victory Sunday against Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

Dolphins lose Moreno for season

The Miami Dolphins put running back Knowshon Moreno on seasonending injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The move came two days after Moreno, who had missed the previous two games with a dislocated elbow, suffered the injury Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

The Dolphins also reinstated defensive lineman Derrick Shelby after an eight- day suspension stemming from an arrest on charges of resisting arrest and trespassing at a nightclub in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Shelby has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Bengals put WR Jones on IR

The Cincinnati Bengals put receiver Marvin Jones, who caught 10 touchdown passes last season, on season- ending injured reserve.

Jones broke his left foot during camp but was expected back early in the regular season. He returned to practice but suffered an injury to his right ankle that wasn’t improving.
