HUB ARKUSH’S NFL POWERRANKINGS
1. Broncos ( 4- 1): Clearly the best until someone knocks them off again.
2. Cardinals ( 4- 1): With wins over 49ers, Chargers, only loss to Broncos, hard to rank them lower.
3. Chargers ( 5- 1): Stumbled vs. Raiders, but good teams find a way.
4. 49ers ( 4- 2): Playing very well, but injuries are piling up.
5. Eagles ( 5- 1): Whitewash of Giants was their best game of the year.
6. Colts ( 4- 2): Four- game winning streak, best young QB in the game.
7. Patriots ( 4- 2): Obviously Brady’s fine, but Mayo, Ridley huge losses.
8. Cowboys ( 5- 1): Nothing left to prove and not much left on their schedule.
9. Seahawks ( 3- 2): This may be too high after their game Sunday.
10. Packers ( 4- 2): Were hot until second half vs. Dolphins; still need to see more from defense.
11. Ravens ( 4- 2): Big, big game vs. Bucs, but not only team to rout them.
12. Panthers ( 3- 2- 1): Hard to get excited about but harder to ignore.
13. Bengals ( 3- 1- 1): Have to be better than that at home vs. Panthers.
14. Lions ( 4- 2): Defense impressive, but something is still missing.
15. Browns ( 3- 2): Will probably be 6- 2 when they head to Cincinnati.
16. Bears ( 3- 3): Hard to beat when they don’t beat themselves.
17. Giants ( 3- 3): Apparently, offense still has a lot of work to do.
18. Texans ( 3- 3): How much longer can they stay with Fitzpatrick?
19. Chiefs ( 2- 3): Not sure about them; will find out more vs. Chargers.
20. Bills ( 3- 3): New owners, same old story on field.
21. Dolphins ( 2- 3): Joe Philbin needs to work on game management.
22. Steelers ( 3- 3): It’s one thing to lose in Cleveland, it’s another to get smoked.
23. Falcons ( 2- 4): Pathetic performance against Bears.
24. Saints ( 2- 3): Better have found some defense over bye week.
25. Vikings ( 2- 4): O- line, Bridgewater or both to blame for fiasco vs. Lions.
The rest: 26. Redskins ( 1- 5); 27. Rams ( 1- 4); 28. Titans ( 2- 4); 29. Jets ( 1- 5); 30. Raiders ( 0- 5); 31. Buccaneers ( 1- 5); 32. Jaguars ( 0- 6).
