Alicia Zumpino & Kyle Ryberg

-

It was a cold Tuesday night on November 12, 2013, when Alicia

Zumpino, 34, considered canceling on her blind date, Kyle Ryberg, 37, corporate controller for Aon. “I [decided] to take a leap of faith,” she says. “It was different than any other date I’d been on. I knew there was something about this guy.”

Her intuition proved true, and two years later, on September 5, the couple married in what Zumpino calls “a destination wedding,” even though it was right here in Chicago at Venue SIX10 (610 S. Michigan). “My family is from Philadelphia; his family is fromWisconsin,” says Zumpino, VP of sales for ChatID, Inc. and a former Miss Philadelphia. “It was our chance to show off our city to everybody.”

To cap off the evening, their 140 guests watched fireworks go off at Navy Pier. “It’s so easy to get caught up in the details,” Zumpino says. “But at the end of the day, it’s about surrounding yourself with the people who love you and who contributed to who you are.”
