MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING FROM APARTMENT BUILDINGS
A man has been charged with stealing packages from apartment building vestibules on the North Side twice in October.
Julio Code, 49, faces two felony counts of residential burglary, according to a statement from Chicago Police.
The burglaries happened about 10:30 p.m.
Oct. 11 in the 1800 block of North Winnebago Avenue and again about 5:50 a.m. Oct. 23 in the 1900 block of West Diversey Parkway, police said.
In both incidents, Code, of the 2600 block of North Halsted Street, pried open the door of an apartment building and stole the delivered packages left in the vestibule, police said.
Surveillance photos and videos were released and Code was subsequently arrested Monday, police said.
