No one hurt in small bakery blaze

6 No one was hurt in a small fire Sunday afternoon at the Nabisco bakery on the Southwest Side.

The fire was reported at the bakery in the 7300 block of South Kedzie at 2: 32 p. m., according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson.

Crews arrived four minutes later and found a small fire under a conveyor belt, Hudson said. The blaze was quickly extinguish­ed.

No injuries were reported, and the bakery was not evacuated, Hudson said.

Mondelez Internatio­nal operates the Chicago Lawn neighborho­od plant, which produces Chips Ahoy and Oreo Cookies, among other snack products.
