A second woman has been charged with kidnapping and torturing a woman last month in Elgin. Ruby Gomez, 20, was arrested Friday and charged with home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, inflicting great bodily harm, aggravated battery with a caustic substance and aggravated battery involving torture, according to the Elgin police.
Police responded to a call of a woman being held against her will early Feb. 27 in the 300 block of Raymond Street and found an injured 19-year-old woman.
The woman, who was treated at a hospital, told the police she had been in a residence in the 500 block of Levine Court with her ex-boyfriend when four females entered the home and, with the help of her ex-boyfriend, forced her into a car and started beating her, then drove her to the 300 block of Raymond Street, where they continued to beat her and hold her against her will. —Luke Wilusz
