A 58- year- old woman attacked by a longtime neighbor knocked the man out with a glass mug and a crowbar after he broke into herWest Side home Monday and demanded sex, Cook County prosecutors said.
When the victim fought back, 30- year- old Dorval Grice fell off her and onto the woman’s bed Monday morning, Assistant State’s Attorney Bryan Grissman said.
Authorities found him there in the woman’s ransacked room after she called 911, Grissman said at Grice’s bond hearing on Tuesday.
Police arrived at the home, in the 1300 block of South Throop, and saw the woman on her porch, wearing a robe and covered in blood, Grissman said.
The woman had been sleeping in her bedroom at 6: 30 a. m. when Grice climbed through an unlatched livingroom window, Grissman said.
The woman awakened to Grice pulling her hair and demanding sex, Grissman said.
When she refused, Grice allegedly started punching her, then asked her to perform a sex act on him.
As Grice continued the assault, ripping off the woman’s underwear, she begged for her life and urinated on him to get him to stop, Grissman said.
The woman was able to grab the glass from her nightstand and hit Grice. She also hit him with the crowbar she kept by her bed for protection, Grissman said.
Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil ordered Grice held in lieu of $ 250,000 bail on charges of home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual assault.
