Bette Crockett Ruda, born August 29, 1928 in Kansas City, MO, left Brighton Gardens of Tampa October 26, 2016 to be with her Lord and Savior.

Mrs. Ruda was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Anthony Ruda. Bette is survived by her children, Darlene Dunat, Mark Ruda, Neil Ruda, David ( Connie) Ruda and Carol Pinnell. Mrs. Ruda had seven grandchild­ren, Sara Pinnell, Jonathan Pinnell, Timothy Ruda, Derek Ruda, Daniel Pinnell, Kimberly Ruda and Kelly Ruda. She also is survived by her only sibling, Marie Fonseca of Maryland.

Mrs. Ruda moved to Chicago shortly after her birth. Bette attended Senn High School and graduated from Steinmetz High School. She enjoyed art classes, and aspired to be an artist.

After her marriage, Mrs. Ruda lived in Franklin Park, IL and Niles, IL. Except for a brief return to the Chicago suburbs, Bette lived in the Tampa Bay area for most of the last 42 years. Her most recent home was in Wesley Chapel, FL.

Mrs. Ruda’s favorite things included her several pet dogs through the years, trips to downtown Chicago and Fort DeSoto Park near St. Petersburg, chair time with her Bible, talking about her grandchild­ren, listening to music of all genres, the Chicago Blackhawks and Cubs, cooking and baking.

Cremation was handled by Blount & Curry Funeral Home – Carrollwoo­d. There will be no service. Remains will be scattered in Florida and Chicago.
