MAN CHARGED IN MILWAUKEE CRASH THAT KILLED 3 CHICAGO WOMEN
A suburban Milwaukee man accused of running a red light and crashing into anUber car lastweekend in Milwaukee and killing three Chicagowomen whowere riding in it has been chargedwith reckless homicide, among other felony charges, authorities said.
Jasen Randhawa, 23, of Mequon, Wisconsin, and a passenger ran away after the crash early Sunday, but he turned himself in onMonday, according to Milwaukee police.
TV stations in Milwaukee reported that court records show Randhawa was caught on a video from a nearby taxicab saying, “I know I shouldn’t have drove.”
The crash happened around 3 a. m. Sunday. A 2015 Lexus R350, which was southbound on North Second Street, ran a red light and crashed into the Uber vehicle, a 2013 Ford Fusion, that was heading west onWest Clybourn Avenue, police said. Court records show the Lexus was going 63 miles an hour in a 30 mph zone.
Ashley L. Sawatzke, 30, AmyC. Taylor, 32, and Lindsey B. Cohen, 35, all were killed, police said. They were friends who met working at the Chicago advertising agency Energy BBDO.

Willowbrook Ballroom damaged infire
The historic-Willowbrook Ballroom in southwest suburbanWillow Springs was significantly damaged in a fire Friday.
About 2 p. m., a roof fire was reported at theWillowbrook Ballroom at 8900 Archer Ave., according to Fire Chief Daniel Niemeyer of the Tri- State Fire Protection District. Upon arriving, firefighters found smoke coming from the roof, which broke out in flamesminutes later.

Aman was shot and critically wounded while driving on Lake Shore Drive early Friday near Grant Park.
At 1: 26 a. m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the northbound lanes near Grand and found the 41- year- old in the driver seat of a white conversion van, according to Chicago Police.

Illinois State Police troopers were dispatched for reports of shots fired at 11: 50 a. m. on westbound I- 290 at Harlem, according to ISP. One person was wounded and was taken to a hospital, although details about the victim were not immediately available.
Allwestbound laneswere closed at Harlem, but they were reopened by 1: 50 p. m., police said.
